Level 1
Spellshaping… Biomancers can cast their spells in the form of animals that they could shapeshift into. These animals have HP equal to the temporary HP that you would gain from shapeshifting into them, and stats equal to those creatures’ stats. The creatures will obey your commands and share your initiative in combat. As a bonus action, you may activate the spells stored in the creature, destroying it and casting the spell from the creature’s position. Touch spells require the creature to be touching an enemy. If the spell that you cast does not require a target, it will activate on the creature’s death, centering its effects on the area that the creature died. Otherwise, the spell will fizzle out, and the spell slot is still used up. You may have up to 3 of these spells active at a time, and they last as long as your shapeshifting feature would allow you to remain shapeshifted. Casting your spells this way requires both a spell slot, and one use of your shapeshifting feature.
Level 2
Selective Adaptation... Once each day, you may have your body instantly adapt to a new environment. For up to 2 hours, this environment becomes your favored terrain and you gain new traits based on the terrain:
- Arctic: You gain resistance to frost damage and cold climates.
- River/Lake: You gain a swim speed of 45 feet and can breathe under water.
- Desert: You become resistant to fire damage and the next time you would become exhausted, you stay in your current state instead.
- Forest: Your passive perception and stealth skills are increased by +3.
- Grassland: Your ground speed is increased by 10 feet.
- Ocean: You gain a swim speed of 45 feet and can breathe under water.
- Swamp: You gain resistance to acid and poison.
- Underground: You gain a blindsight of 15 feet.
Metamagic: Bioshift... The next time you cast a spell on an ally, you may grant them temporary HP equal to your character level.
Level 3
Shape others: Biomancers can use their Shapeshifting on other willing targets.
Meta-shapeshifting: A form of metamagic that affects your shapeshifting abilities. You may use more than one at a time by expending multiple hit dice. While shapeshifting, you may apply these effects:
- Enhanced Defenses… Increases the AC of the creature by 2.
- Honed Weapons… Adds +2 to the attack and damage rolls of the creature.
- Enhanced senses… Grants a bonus to perception and passive perception equal to your proficiency modifier.
- Regenerative Capabilities… Regenerates HP equal to your spellcasting modifier each turn during combat, outside of combat, this effect is removed after healing a number of health equal to 3 times your level or if the shapeshifted individual reaches full health.
- Fortify… Increases the HP of the creature by twice your character level.
Level 4
Spell Reconstruction: Whenever you successfully counter or dispel a spell, instead of the spell being removed, you may use one of your daily shapeshifts in order to use your Spellshaping feature on that spell. You may apply metamagic to this spell for no cost.
Metamagic: Bioshape... You may convert the damage from your next spell into either Poison, Necrotic, or Acid damage. You may treat any 1s or 2s on the damage die as 3s.
Level 5
Perfect Analysis... While fighting in your favored terrain, any enemy you encounter is considered a favored enemy. You may appraise your favored enemies as a bonus action. Allies affected by your shapeshifting ability and your summoned creatures also receive this bonus. (That includes the favored enemy damage bonus.)
