As a high ranking member of the runescribes guild, High Scriptrix Bene'var has unprecedented access to all studies of runecrafting, runesmithing and runescribing. This includes restricted volumes containing runes that are capable of imbuing items with powers which would cause undue harm to those that chose to use them irresponsibly. Very few are permitted to make use of the powers that she has at her disposal. It has been rumoured that some of the runic capabilities that she has access to can create beasts, control the minds of the unwilling or even reanimate the dead, although these are just rumours.
When it comes to designating the runes to be used on dwarves exiled and marked as Outcasts, a member of the Runic Council is required to be present. This is done to ensure that judgement given was fairly placed and that no rune combination is too powerful as to warp the character of those sentenced. The High Scriptrix has a very strict notion of right and wrong and tends to stick to very traditional values which ultimately lead to slightly harsher runic inscriptions being ordered. Although she doesn’t partake in the scribing of runes on the Outcasted members, she does oversee that the work is carried out correctly.

Physical Description

She stands quite tall at a sturdy 5’3” and carries herself in a very prim and proper manner. Often wearing an official-looking corset on the exterior of her rune imbued blouse. Her hair is bunched at the back of the head where it splits into two extravagantly large braids that continue down to the backs of her knees. A pair of magnification capable spectacles adorn her short nose. Although some wrinkles appear on her face, she looks remarkably young for her 183 years of age. The ends of her plaits of hair and her fingers on her right hand are slightly dyed from contact with a range of different ore powders through her professional use and research.
