Stay beautiful, darling!

The Blue Drakkens might seem humane and kind at first. They don’t enjoy torture and have granted mortals the possibility of becoming nobility in Gemaire. Mortals are allowed to do anything that a drakkenblood can do and most mortals don’t face starvation or abuse in Blue Drakken households. Their cities are filled with artisans who are paid well for their services and entertainers who are adored for their skills. Gemaire is all around a beautiful country. 
The poison lies under the surface. The Blue Drakkens might not enjoy abusing mortals and flaunting their superiority but they want to live in a fantasy of royalty. In Gemaire, Blue Drakkens are revered and loved rulers who pretend to be just and kind. 
This fantasy requires rights for citizens and Blue Drakkens are more than happy to grant those for the mortals who live as free folk in their cities. Nothing comes for free, though, and mortals need to pay the prize for the rights. 
Blue Drakkens are delusional. They don’t want to know about the real world where mortals, unfortunately, live and rather stay in luxury and close their eyes to every horrific thing in the world. While the Blue Drakkens live in splendour enjoying entertainment and all the good stuff world has to offer, their mortal and drakkenblood attendees do the unpleasant parts of ruling. 
Mortals and drakkenbloods alike live their lives trying to balance on the thin line of keeping their fickle royalty entertained and content. An angered Blue Drakken is a horrible sight like a child having a temper tantrum.
