Overview

Words can barely express the horrors visited upon the common people of Europe every day. Some would say chief among them is a simple word, Aufstandsvermeidung. A german word, a noun, meaning prevention of riots. A simple word.

But how could this be? Especially in countries struck with Haze and the creatures mutated by it, where fresh food is a rarety and Trading Houses own every business?

The answer is simple. What is the base requirement for a successful riot against those that would opress common people?

Communication

When a foreman suspects a worker is talking to someone he shouldn't, he simply sends a note to whoever is in charge of the local settlement. Then arrangements are made for this worker to be transported to a different country that does not share a language said worker speaks. A country where that worker will be reliant on his new foreman for food, drink, shelter, companionship, entertainment and everything else.

Aufstandsvermeidung steals a person's voice without reducing that person's productivity.

Aufstandsvermeidung steals a person's hopes and dreams, his family, his friends.

Hundreds and thousands of men and woman and children have been ripped from their homes over the last twenty years. Each and every one of them a sign that resistance is futile.
