Eternal Carnival

Venice, the City of Masks. Nobody in the world knows how to celebrate like the Venetians, especially when the festivities are sponsored by some of the richest men and women on the continent. The Carnival, a tradition that used to happen but once a year, has been given an extension at the behest of the secret ruler of the city, the Doge. Every night one of the richest members of the city hosts the Carnival celebrations with everyone who can afford a mask permitted to participate.
In theory the masks should ensure the equality of all people present but there are some fixed roles unavailable to the less fortunate. The roman pantheon is strictly off limits as it's positions are reserved for the richest and noblest inhabitants of the city. First amongst them, Zeus, father of the gods, reserved for the Doge himself.
