Fugger is a well known name in german history, having once served as the financier of the german emperor. Kupferhaus (Copper house) is a nod to their own history and the metal that elevated the family from their poor roots.
In todays world Kupferhaus Fugger wealth is based on their dominance of the continent's steel production, having long since destroyed their smaller french competition and bought out the former british top dog. It is safe to say that the Fuggers control most of the German Empire from their main seat in Augsburg, only allowing the influence of other Grandes Entreprises in areas they themselves can't or won't compete with.
