What Is This???

H
egemony International is a creative work of fiction by Adam Nathaniel Davis. At the most basic level, it houses an ongoing web-serial that can best be classified as speculative, absurdist, science fiction. But it's more than just a single story. It's the basis for an entire world.

From the homepage, and from the Chapters category under the World Codex widget that's always resident on the left side of the page, you can read through all of the completed chapters. However, you'll also notice that the World Codex contains links to a great many other articles. Those additional articles provide deeper context on the concepts and characters present in this world.

Hegemony International is also an entirely new way to read works of fiction. Rather than cramming the narrative full of the normal exposition that one usually finds in "traditional" sci-fi/fantasy, all of the world's concepts are detailed in their own standalone articles. Those articles are then linked-to directly from within the story itself. This puts the power in the hands of you, the reader, to decide when/if you want to get broader information about the overall world in which the story takes place.

For this reason, Hegemony International is actually meant to be read on the internet. If the story was presented on a printed page, you would lose all of the hyperlinks that provide background information.

If the supporting articles don't answer all of your questions, feel free to leave comments/questions on the chapters/articles themselves. To do this, you'll need a World Anvil account - but World Anvil membership is free! You can also create threads in the Hegemony International discussion boards.

I suggest starting with the main story (shown on the homepage as "Chapter 1..."). Once you've dived into the narrative, feel free to follow any of the many hyperlinks to get more context about the characters and the world in which they live.
