Cult of the Iceborne

The Cult of the Iceborne derives its name from a Dragon known as the Iceborne Wyvern, Velchisius. The ancient white dragon created many Dragonborn slaves, who worked tirelessly to build her domain under fear of punishment and shame. It is said that the greatest atrocities known to historians are told by survivors of these years under her rule. One notable descendant of this group is Haluk of the Iceborne, who would pass on many of the stories about the cult we know today.   Over the years, Velchisius grew more tyrannical and mad toward her slaves. It is told that she saw herself as a god among her kin, and forced her subjects to build great frozen monuments in her honor. This work killed many Dragonborn, and caused a great rebellion. Her slaves revolted and managed to bring the great dragon down, tearing the great dragon's form apart with ferocious, primal vengeance. It is believed by the Iceborne that the power of a great being can be taken by consuming its flesh; the rebels held a great feast on the body of Velchisius, and with this event they considered themselves to have taken her place in divinity.   Many descendants of the Iceborne still live today, passing on the stories of their ancestors in writing and performing rituals to imitate these events; Once every ten years a great hunt is organized, where descendants across the world arrive to hunt a great beast of the north known to harass civil lands in Wythe. These beasts would be eaten raw to preserve its divine meat, and the feast only ended when the last scrap of flesh was taken from its bones.
