Gourdon
The Lady's Gardener
Gourdon (Born July of 397) is a massive sentient gourd native to Eastwythe. Known colloquially as The Gentleman Gourd, Gourdon is exceptionally polite and respectful.
History
Gourdon began his existence as a mundane gourd of humble origins, growing amongst his brethren in a farmer's field on the outskirts of Murlaywood. When the Emperor died and Eastwythe descended into chaos shortly afterwards, Gourdon was gradually imbued with the primal magic that gripped the forest. He awoke to find his fields choked with weeds, and the farmer slain by unknown assailants. Alone and adrift, Gourdon set out into the forest, moving from one settlement to another in search of companionship and conversation. He was amongst the populace of the Cobalt Fortress when Kastus Iharovich inadvertently flooded a Sunken Place into the city, and managed to escape with the train of refugees making their way to the Lady in Pearl's Domain. It was in this caravan that Gourdon met the Argent Company, and stuck with the Company as they organized entry into the Lady in Pearl's Domain for themselves and the surviving refugees. Later, when the Company secured Haluk's Amulet and subdued the Amber Lord, George Cadougan negotiated a position for Gourdon as the Lady in Pearl's chief gardener.Physical Description
Gourdon is, as should be expected, a hefty gourd of massive stature. He stands over 7 feet high, and weighs (by his own estimation) well over 600 pounds. A girthy green stalk sits atop what functions as his head, with two longer green stems protruding from the front of his face serving as his eyes. A large warty growth beneath Gourdon's eyes makes for a crude imitation of a nose, and his mouth is carved in a perpetual frown. His limbs are woven braids of thick roots and green vines, with gnarled three-fingered hands and broad two-toed feet.
