Pavil of Arnt Batin
Pavil was a Dwarf born in Veigrsinki in the year 82 AU, and was taken to the city of Arnt Batin as a boy to train in combat until he was ready to fight in the local arenas for glory and entertainment. As a dwarf, he was a 'villain', brought to fight a popular new fighter debuting in the arena. Surprisingly, Pavil defeated his opponent, and began to rise in popularity as the foreign beast of Arnt Batin. After dethroning the defending champion, he defended his position as the champion for 115 years.
Pavil knew a life of wealth and glory; it was not until he met a new challenger until happiness took its place in his life as well. A dwarven woman, Fiorel, gave Pavil a good thrashing during their match. While Pavil still won in the end, he fell in love immediately. They were married not four months later and lived a long and happy life. Eight years after their marriage, Pavil wanted to spend more time with his family and retired from his throne, never having been defeated in the arenas of Arnt Batin.
They lived a life of tranquility and comfort; Pavil had amassed great wealth during his time in the arenas. However, he was bored. He missed the glory of a great challenge to be proud of, and his wife Fiorel noticed this. She told him the story of her family heirloom, a necklace made from the rare Star Lotus, and how she lost it many years ago. Understanding that finding the exact piece was unrealistic, she asked Pavil to return to their hometown of Veigrsinki to find a replacement. Yearning for adventure, and eager to please his wife, Pavil agreed.
Upon his arrival to Veigrsinki, Pavil met Nilhursija and Friedrich, and with their help, solved a series of murders in the city related to a horrid creature stealing the water supply. The Temple of Riemel bestowed one of the rare green gems to Pavil as a thanks for his help, and with his lust for adventure satisfied and prize in hand, he returned home to his wife to bestow the beautiful necklace to her.
Shortly after, Pavil and Fiorel returned to their home city in Veigrsinki, and lived out the rest of their days until they died together in their sleep of old age in 412.
