Moona

Known by many names, Moona (can also be called "Rusakovium") is an impersonal force or quality that resides in people and animals. It has commonly been interpreted as "the stuff of which magic is formed," as well as the substance of which souls are made. Moona is a spiritual substance considered to have supernatural origin, a sacred force existing in the universe. Therefore to control Moona is to have influence, authority and efficacy: the power to perform in a given situation. This essential quality of Moona is not limited to persons; peoples of all varieties can possess Moona. People or animals that possess and control high levels of Moona are accorded respect because their possession of Moona gives them authority, power, and prestige.   Objects that have Moona can change a person’s luck. Examples of such objects are charms or amulets. For instance if a prosperous hunter gave a charm that had Moona to another person the prosperous hunter’s luck would go with it. Moona is used by the races of Heimland to power most of their vehicles and devices.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Moona appears a shining, glittery powder. When exposed to liquid, it turns to water. When exposed to fire, it turns to crystals. When exposed to gases, it vanishes.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Moona flows all around us, it is a field permeating the universe and enabling consciousness. Moona is a semi-sentient elementary-particle associated with consciousness, it is an analogy of consciousness itself. Some metallic alloys are sensitive to Moona, hence machines are also affected by it.

Compounds

It is said to be an ingredient in Nuclear-Magic.

Geology & Geography

Being from living entities, Moona can be found in the soil, water and even air.

Origin & Source

Moona came into existence when consciousness did, as it is created by consciousness as well as being itself conscious.

History & Usage

History

About 33,000 years ago, Moona induced changes in sapient species to allow them to interact better, spreading more consciousness. Moona came to be worshiped as a gift of the gods, perhaps even the Creator himself.

Discovery

First discovered by Areop-Enap, who supposedly founded the nations of Heimland and the Tagaloa.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Although widely respected on the Tagaloa and treated as such, it is used more leniently on Heimland by the races.

Industrial Use

Patrick-the-Engine has been known to harvest Moona from the soil before converting it into energy that powers all of Heimland.

Refinement

Moona can be refined to produce Moona-energy, which powers all of Heimland.

Manufacturing & Products

Nuclear-Magic and Moona-energy

Byproducts & Sideproducts

By-products include Dark-Powder, a rare crystalline resource that freezes everything it contacts.

Hazards

Refining Moona has been known to induce hallucinogenic effects in people nearby, namely causing their heads to explode.

Environmental Impact

Soil where Moona has been harvested is sterile and cold, and lakes normally dry up if the Moona within them is used up.
