Races of Heimland: Indagarians
The Indagarians are the second-oldest race of Heimland, coming to the island right after the Yea'haa'weh and before the Old Folk.
This bloodthirsty species offers sacrifices to their goddess Eeshwara, normally common people and Yea'haa'weh who they hate. They make use of Grinders, massive machines left by the Old Folk that butcher animals and skin them alive before chopping them into steaks and sausages.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Indagarians are slender people with pale-white skin like ghosts. Their eyes are a deep red and, compared to females, males are thinner and have longer faces; their hair is longer with a paler red color. They have six fingers on each hand (one extra opposable thumb) and five toes on each foot. They are roughly the same shape as common people.
Biological Traits
They appear to share some sort of relation to the indigenous people of the Tagaloa.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Indagarians five stages of life that are characterized by different physical and behavioral features.
Growth Rate & Stages
The first of the stages is infancy which lasts from birth to around 2.5 years-old. The infant weighs between 2 and 6 kilograms. An infant is identified by light pigmented zones around the eyes and mouth in contrast to darker pigmentation on the rest of the face as well as long hairs that protrude outward around the face. During this time the infant is always carried by the mother during travel, she/he is highly dependent on the mother for food, and also sleeps in the mother's arms. The next stage is called juvenile-hood and takes place between 2.5 and 5 years-old. The juvenile weighs between 6 and 15 kilograms and does not look dramatically different from an infant. Although s/he is still mainly carried by the mother, a juvenile will often play with peers and make small exploratory trips within the vision of the mother. Toward the end of this stage, the juvenile will stop sleeping in the mother's arms and will sleep alone. From the ages of 5 to 8 years-old, the Indagarian is in an adolescent stage of life. She/he weighs around 15-30 kilograms. The light patches on the face start to disappear and eventually the face becomes completely dark. During this time Indagarians still have constant contact with their mothers, yet they develop a stronger relationship with peers while playing in groups. They are still young and act with caution around unfamiliar adults, especially males. At 8 years-old, female Indagarians are considered fully developed and begin to have offspring of their own. Males, however, enter a stage called sub-adulthood. This stage lasts from 8 to around 13 or 15 years-old and the sub-adults weigh around 30 to 50 kilograms. Their faces are completely dark and they begin to develop cheek flanges. Their beard starts to emerge while the hair around their face shortens and instead of pointing outwards it flattens along the skull. This stage marks maturity in males, yet these sub-adults are still socially undeveloped and will still avoid contact with adult males.
Ecology and Habitats
Dry areas, mainly deserts.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They are aggressive meat-eaters, normally eating six pounds of steak and fish per day. They drink cups of goat-blood and also consume fruits, leaves, insects, flowers, and occasionally bird-eggs.
Biological Cycle
Male Indagarians reach adulthood at 13 to 15 years of age. They develop a fully grown beard, fully developed cheek-callosities and long hair. They will normally live for about 40 more years.

History
The Indagarians came to Heimland before the Old Folk. When the Folk arrived, conflict started immediately. The merciless species were slaughtering Yea'haa'weh and Old Folk at rapid rates, invading their villages and stealing their women.
After 8 months of ceaseless assault, Old Folk had enough. They dropped Big-Kahuna, one of the first atomic-bombs to be dropped onto Heimland, onto their city of Indagar. Although a few Indagarians escaped before the strike, the ones that were caught in the explosion and survived the aftermath evolved into the vicious Surakh, who proceeded to attack the Old Folk after 500 years of peace.
