Arísert

When you first spot it, the scale of the structure evades you. Down the coast, peeking up above the trees, a glistening wall of ice sparkles in the afternoon sun. As you round a bend, the true scale of it becomes clear. Still more than a league down the coast, the wall towers over a hundred meters tall, the top dotted with crenelations.   As you watch, a ship emerges from the shadow of the wall, cutting it’s way through the icy waters and making its way up the coast away from you. Squinting through the bright sun, you can just barely make out the sign of figures moving along the top of the towering blue-white wall.   ~ an account from one of the free'mon accompanying Sindri Frelsbinda
A city of decent size surrounded by a towering wall of ice, Arísert is one of the few bastions of civilization in Myrkviðr.

Demographics

Among the foundling population, there is a trend toward newtlings and laerilbak, with a decent amount of welkin and a surge of mon'toskur since the actions of the Champions during the siege of the ðyrs. There is a large amount of tiplers that confine themselves to subterranean burrows they have dug beneath their quarter of the city.

Infrastructure

There is a complex series of tubes and pipes formed and constituted purely of ice make their way throughout the city of Arísert, functioning not only as a sewer system, but also as a network for sending messages and parcels, along with rapid response and relocation of the many ice golems that roam the streets. The sewer system dumps out into the great northern sea some miles away after being filtered, while the rest of the system is centrally linked to the control center within the Golem Quarter.   The capabilities of the network are extensive, but the limitations are exacting. Each tube is precisely the same diameter, designed to match the standardized size of the cylinders that make up the golems. As such, the mail tubes that the city uses to deliver mail and transport packages use a modified cylinder. Hollowed out as much as possible, the modified cylinder can easily transport mail and small packages, but living transport is strictly prohibited after several incidents involving tipler children being sent through the network.   The children were unharmed.
Population
~17,500 foundlings above ground, ~5,000 tiplers underground
