The New Paloumaia Development Party is like many of the other regionalist political parties that can be found throughout the thematas of Makadelos. The ΚANP represents the concerns of localized interest groups, is unconcerned with the issues of surrounding regions, and struggles to establish broad appeal in Makadelos' political landscape. Even within their region, this party struggled for five years to gather much of a following, yet an observer wouldn't know that today.
While in terms of party membership the KANP is the smallest of the "Big Six" Paloumaian parties, it wields a disproportionate amount of power in the region, forcing all other parties to conform to certain standards. Representing the interests of capital, the Monarchy, and the Promachos settlers in the region, most of the Paloumaios and Azati population want nothing to do with them. However, the remaining population that does support the party tends to be made up of the wealthy and powerful.

Culture

The KANP defines itself as a "Progressive and Industrialist Party, dedicated to the future development and industrialization of the regions of Paloumaia." This sentiment primarily aligns itself with Promachos Industrialists and Paloumaios business owners, leading to an internal culture that is seen as both elitist and colonialist in nature.

Public Agenda

The KANP's primary stated goal is to promote industrialization and urbanization throughout Paloumaia, which is done through the establishment of subsidies for specific industries, such as manufacturing, logging, and mining, while encouraging settlement from other parts of Makadelos, along with the Makadelization of the local Paloumaios and Azatis.

Assets

Throughout the Eight Themas of Paloumaia, KANP Mestors line the Thematic Synods and hold small majorities in Six of them. As of the beginning of Pemptarios, the party boasts 12,762 members, 366 mestors throughout regional synods, and one mestor within the national Synod.

History

While a population of "Promachoi" have existed within Paloumaia since the unification of Makadelos, that population exploded following the conclusion of the Great Western War and the dissolution of Paloumaia's Satrapy system in favor of more easily controlled and loyal themas. Founded four months after the treaty of Lazurion was signed, the KANP began as the Promachos Party (KP), originally to advocate for the expanded rights of Promachoi Settlers throughout Paloumaia. While the party received minimal notoriety and prestige for its first five years, things began to change after the ascension of Mestor Markos Protoporios as leader of the party.
Believing the original scope of the party was limiting and unpopular, Protoporios rebuilt the party from the bottom up, seeking instead to advocate for the rights, privileges, and interests of business and industry in the region, which happens to coincide with the desires of many of the local Promachoi while opening up the door to Paloumaian and external support from the rest of Makadelos. This change led to a major period of growth for the party, gaining it the majority in its first thematic synod just one year later.
