Physical Description

General Physical Condition

he has a tall, extremely lean body; verging on gangly. he has social anxiety and is easy at getting away from awkward situations. he is incredibly unfit but cannot gain any weight no matter what.

Body Features

he has pale skin, which gave him the nickname of 'Snowflake'. the skin tone colour is ivory with slight pink undertones. the hair on his body is white and can barely be seen against his skin tone. he is self conscious about his appearance and personality. he constantly shaves because he doesn't like having hair on his face because he feels everyone will make of it. he has no animal fur on his body.

Facial Features

he has a triangular shaped face with a perked chin. his face is lean with freckles dotting his nose and cheeks. he has dimples when he smiles which he only does when he is feeling awkward - it a shy half smile. he has pale eyebrows which blend into his skin, to his despair. however, close up, they are straight across with small grey hairs. he has a small scar on his jaw from his younger years as a librarian. he has pale pink lips.

Identifying Characteristics

his identifying features would be his 'snowflake like' appearance. his brown freckles because of the immense contrast between them and his skin. he has many cuts across his fingers because of the books he had to shelve and read. he has no birthmarks, piercings or tattoos. he has nails bitten to the bed which cause people to avoid handshakes with him, etc.

Physical quirks

he uses his left hand for everything as it is his dominant hand. his posture is relatively slumped because he wants to be as small as he can. he has long strides that are quick - he wants to get to his destination as quick as he can. he bites his nails as his nervous habit. he has quite large hands and feet with bunions.

Special abilities

Cedric's magical ability consists of the Faerie power of wind. he has a strong magical ability but is scared of his full potential because he doesn't want to hurt anyone. he is one of the stronger Fae which he tries to hide from everyone. if he wanted, he could blow all of Malvar away or suffocate the entire dynasty - but he won't.

Apparel & Accessories

he likes to wear black pants with grey shirts. he likes to wear woollen jumpers in Winter with comfortable black track pants. he also loves blue woollen socks because he secretly loves to slide around everywhere. he prefers comfort over style but this tends to make him stand out among the crowds because they are in a stylish era. he has a bracelet made out of complicated stringed patterns that he constantly wears on his wrist - it is brown.

Specialized Equipment

• he doesn't use any specialized equipment because he is a librarian, not a soldier. however, as the war begins, he adorns armour in the silver and blue of the Civil War and the red, blue and gold for the Great God War. the armour consists of a chest plate; shoulder, thigh and calf plates and a beautiful faerian iron helmet. he wears bracers on his forearms with either the Scurian or Night Dynasty symbol.

• he becomes a specialised archer but can also use a short sword. he was placed in the archer convoy not because he had good aim, but because of his magical power - wind. the generals used that to their advantage because it made the arrows go faster and become deadlier. /li]

Personal history

• he was born in Malvar to a mum and dad in 2197. his parents were young for Fae making his birth rare. most females can't reproduce until at least 150, she was 105. it was a miracle Declan survived.

• at age 5 (2202), he started showing his first signs of magic. it first began with basic making things fall off shelves from a distance. but he was a lot stronger than other Fae his age. his parents thought it was because he was an early-rare birth.

• at age 6 (2203), he went to his first Fae school. the young Fae didn't really bother him and he didn't bother them either. he wanted friends and he tried making some, but those relationships didn't last. at age 8, he accepted that he wasn't going to make any friends.

• at age 10 (2207), the Fae started making fun of his skin tone, his awkward personality and bitten nails. the name callings started too.

• at age 11 (2208), the bullying got bad, that he almost snapped his leash and strangled the leader. but he didn't, because he still had hope. his parents considered moving to another town so he could have a fresh start. he disagreed because he loved the town.

• at age 13 (2210), he got his first job as a librarian in Erit's Book Shack in Malvar. he found solitude in the books that made him feel better about himself. that people like him did have a place in the world. he spent much of his time in the Book Shack, and began to find a friend in the passive-aggressive Erit. talk of civil war was on the horizon due to the Heirs of Gods illegitimacy and corruption.

• at age 15 (2212), the bullies found about his complicated friendship with Erit and books. they laughed and when he was working, they made fun of him. they learnt that day never to mess with Erit or her books ever again. they still laughed at Declan.

• at age 16 (2213), the story of Hell is Rising kicks off. there has been talk of civil war for a couple of years. the Night Dynasty grows anxious as it is their heir that is in question combined with the Moon Dynasties allegiance.

• at age 17 (2214), Malvar and the night dynasty begin recruiting all of the able bodied men and women over the age of 20 to fight in the Civil War against the Night and Moon Dynasty.

• at age 18 (2215), the Civil War begins. the other five dynasties (Fiorenza stays right out of the conflict) attack the Night and Moon Dynasty. the dynasties become so battered that more men and women are needed to fight. Declan signs up because it is law and his parents were killed in the slaughter.

• at age 24 (2221), the Civil War finally ends when most of the Moon and Night Dynasty murder the Heirs of God, so no more god-like power is in the universe. they didn't get four.

  they remain hidden for years. however Declan is severely injured - fractured spine that is completely crushed in some places.

• from ages 24 to 34 (2221 - 2231) he is in the Moon Dynasty for rehabilitation. he meets many broken souls as they try to regain some self. he meets two people there who are in immense pain - Oliver and Skye. Skye leaves one day, no one knows where she went.

• from ages 35 to 40, he walks to the Sunon Dynasty because he wants to explore the land there. including where the Heirs of God once sat.

• at age 41, he got a job as a City Guard. he became friends with Lillian, Hannah and Gordon a few months later. he didn't like the job but he got paid. it would help him in the future. he worked there until the Great God War began.

• at age 60, he got a promotion to become a palace guard with his incredible listening and observation skills. he was offered to become a spy, but he declined and said he was happy to be a part of the royal guard though. the Queen accepted.

• at age 84 (2301), the Great God War begins. the moon and night dynasty regret killing the Heirs of God back in the Civil War as the gods wrath for killing their children showers upon them in the form of the God of Death and Darkness' minions - demons. Declan still hasn't come to terms with his ability of godlike magic, therefore the demons don't know who is or isn't the Gods children.

he is an incredibly kind but awkward Fae and wants to be loved despite his flaws. he believes the right person will love him no matter his perks and flaws.

it took him a couple of years to come to terms with his sexuality but he is homosexual. he keeps his sexuality secret because he is scared of what others will say about him.

Education

Declan attended the Malvar school from ages six to eighteen but he never graduated because of the Civil War.

"I don't understand why people don't like learning. There is so much out there that you don't know. How does that not spark an interest?

Employment

when he was thirteen, he got his first job at Erit's Book Shack in Malvar. He worked there until he was eighteen and would want to continue to work there. however, the Civil War caused some major issues for his physical health and had to go into rehabilitation after the war in the Sunon Dynasty. the only work he could get in that Dynasty was a patrol job in the City's Guard. he didn't enjoy it and would rather set up his own book store in Sunon. little did he know, that this City Guard job would prove useful for the Great God War when he has to slay demons.

Accomplishments & Achievements

• he was a rare case, being so young and powerful. surviving the child birth is another accomplishment - especially for the mother. this power caused him to realise that there is more to being powerful than just killing/hurting others. it made him realise that power is often misunderstood and can be used for good. this opinion was not taken nicely amongst others.

• he became successful in the subjects of History, Geography, Foreign Nations and Languages. this love for knowledge caused him to become quite intellectual and philosophical which caused envy of other students.

• at thirteen years of age, he got his first job. this is surprising because Fae usually get jobs around twenty. Erit must have thought that he was mature for his age and would help around the store.

  this was careful manipulation on her part because she had a feeling he must of been the true heir. this manipulation plays a big role in his untimely death.

• he barely survived the Civil War but overcame his injury in about ten years of hardcore rehabilitation in the Moon Dynasty. this is an achievement for him because he didn't lose hope in his body or his abilities. this was not how he was meant to die.

• even though he did not like his job, he became friends with some of the other City Guards, including Hannah, Lillian and Gordan. they were some of the outsiders of the City Guard and brought together all of the 'lost toys' as they called it.

1. he killed his first demon successfully in 2301.

• he saved Hannah from death by suffocating the demon to death. he was so angry with the Gods that he released a massive wave of power, killing all of the demons in the vicinity. but the demons kept coming.

Failures & Embarrassments

• he didn't try hard enough to make friends in the early years of his life. this has caused him immense regret throughout his entire life and one of his biggest life regrets when he died.

• he was manipulated by one of his only friends to gain some political control if he tried to take over the world - that is what she was pushing him towards. to her dismay, it didn't work as well as she hoped. then she betrayed him to the demons. this is an embarrassment to him because he trusted her. it made him realise that he trusts too easily.

• he slipped down the stairs in front of the Queen of Sunon. he almost got fired for the disrespect and embarrassment. but Hannah saved him from this embarrassment.

• Hannah went into kiss him, but he didn't want that so he whisked himself away by his magic and ended up hitting his head against the wall - unconscious. he then had to explain to Hannah about what happened. that was an embarrassing moment he will never forget.

• he threw up over a tower onto incoming soldiers because he hates heights. the other soldiers judged him, but at least they were easy kills.

Mental Trauma

• he still has dreams about the amount of pain he went through when his spine snapped and crushed under the Fae of the Stelog Dynasty's attack. this is some form of post traumatic stress disorder. however, it is not as bad as other Fae in the rehabilitation quarters.

• he has major social anxiety. this causes him to hate going out in public, self-conscious, extremely introverted and a constant fear of judgement. Hannah and Lillian help him get through this anxiety though.

Declan's fears include:

• Fear of Judgement: this comes from his social anxiety. he hates to be judged but he is judged anyway. he is facing his fear everyday because of the bullies. doesn't make it any less scary. he hates judgement of his work which is why he keeps in personal and private - not even Hannah or Erit know what he has written or done. he is an incredibly private person.

• Fear of Heights: he hates being up high. during the Civil War, he was put up in the towers to help with archery. he got so giddy he threw up over the wall onto the invading enemy - embarrassing, but they were then easy kills.

• Fear of People or Society: this comes under his social anxiety because he hates to be judged. the only people he is comfortable around are his parents, Erit, Hannah, Lillian and Gordan. everyone else scares him. that's why he keeps to himself.

"It's quite ironic that your power is wind and you are scared of heights. I thought heights would give you more access to your power?" "I think I am more scared of falling."

Intellectual Characteristics

Declan is a linguistic and philosophical person. he loves to learn about languages and history which makes him curious and a lover of learning. he is also a good writer, but prefers not to because he loves reading more - and also of his fear of judgement.

Morality & Philosophy

his morality is super pure. he hates hurting anyone or anything - people, animals, plants, etc. this causes people to use him easily because of his trust. he likes to trust, love and hope for people but has a fear of pushing his goodness onto people for fear of judgement. however, during the Civil War and the Great God War he had to kill Fae and Demons alike. he has never felt the same since and tries to avoid it at all costs. this also comes under his post traumatic stress disorder.

he is quite philosophical about nature, society and the universe. he likes to form questions that he will hopefully answer one day - even if he has to die to figure them out. that is the only thing surrounding death that he is okay with. however, some of his ideas are quite abstract and cause Erit to raise her eyebrows at some of them.

a bystander against injustices because he doesn't like to get involved. he sometimes stretches the truth because he doesn't want to hurt anyone with the complete truth, thus he is dishonest. he is a little arrogant about his abundance of knowledge but he only shares what he knows if he trusts you, but will blow off the question if he isn't comfortable with sharing his opinions. he is incredibly forgiving even if that person doesn't deserve his forgiveness. absent-minded at times because he is pondering a question. he is quite timid and a follower because he doesn't want to upset anyone. he is an immense introvert which isn't a bad thing, but at times can be annoying to get information out of him. he is quite critical of his and others work but tends to keep it to himself because he knows it is their best work.

he doesn't look people in the eye when people are talking to him or when he is talking to people. it is more of a quick glance. he stares off into the distance or down at his hands. he bites his nails to the bed when he is doing something mindless. he also bites his nails when he is nervous. he has shy, half smiles but once you get him to truly smile, it is bright with his dimples. he has a breathy laugh if you are lucky to hear it - some say it is cute.

Hygiene

he is a hygienic person physically but his house is a mess. his bookshelves gather dust and his kitchen and bathroom are disgusting. he is too busy reading to be bothered to clean it. his house is beginning to smell like mold. although, during the Civil War his house was burnt down by the Seraphine Flamers. it apparently stunk as it burnt to the ground.

when he was a guard, he moved in with Hannah, Lillian and Gordan as long as he payed equal rent and kept his room constantly clean at all times - Lillian's request. he grudgingly complied even though he has never cleaned in his life.

Contacts & Relations

• at the first twenty years of his life, his only contacts and relationships were with his parents and Erit. he had a negative relationship with the school bullies.

• during the rehabilitation sessions for ten years, he became extremely close friends with Oliver and Skye even though they were physically tortured and psychologically insane. he thought it was nice that he wasn't going through the pain alone.

• once he went to the Sunon Dynasty, he made friends with Hannah, Lillian and Gordan. he became extremely close with Hannah's sensitivity, Lillian's intelligence and Gordan's protective nature. he dearly loved them.

• once he was promoted, he met a girl named Elouise who was the strongest female warrior he had ever met. he also met Finn, Adeana, Elijah, Maya, Dayo and Sam. he felt these people were far too intense for his liking and preferred the solitude of Hannah, Lillian and Gordan. he grew a close relationship with Finn

Family Ties

his family were close friends with the Tigra family. they had a son ten years younger than Declan, named Levi. Declan didn't know how to behave around children and it was a beautiful relationship wasted. his family were friends with a lot of people in Malvar which didn't suit Declan's dislike to be around people. he tended to stay home a lot of the time, which gave him a reputation of being lazy. it didn't sit well with his parents.

Religious Views

he doesn't really have a set religious view but more accepts that everyone has a different belief system. however, he does pray to the Gods at times, especially Veata and Conary. it would be ironic that he is a Heir of God and he didn't believe in them. his appreciation of knowledge and life itself is better for him than a strict set of rules.

Social Aptitude

he isn't charismatic, confident or extroverted. he is awkward, anxious and introverted. however, his awkwardness to others may seem cute which is why a few people have enjoyed being friends with him. he finally got one of his goals ticked off. he prefers to stick to himself and read, as does Hannah and Lillian. Gordan just broods. he has polite etiquette. however, he is anxious when people ask him to speak at dinner. this causes people to think he is lazy and just not interested, when he really isn't. he just prefers to listen.

he bites his nails when nervous or doing mindless activities. he doesn't look people in the eye when speaking or being spoken to. he eyes his hands when speaking, head bowed and shoulders inward. he walks with his shoulders slumped and head to the ground; trying to avoid the society around him. he links his fingers together when forming a thought, it usually stays like that when he is having an existential crisis.

his hobbies include reading, observing, thinking, flower shopping, learning, travelling.

Speech

In the Night Dynasty, they have a cultured, cool voice which is beautiful to listen to. he has a relatively deep voice but barely speaks. he doesn't have a stammer or lisp. when forming a thought he usually starts with 'What if...' and goes off into his thought. he sometimes has to stop and restart his sentence because he couldn't get the information across like he wanted. he shyly smiles in greeting and a small nod and half smile in good bye. he is indifferent towards swearing but doesn't use it unless the situation calls for it. he loves metaphors.

Wealth & Financial state

• Declan is of the middle class. He earns a bit of money from his time being a Librarian. however, his entire savings went towards the Civil War, therefore he is now broke. the rehabilitation center cost a lot of money and took twenty years to pay off, but Declan will always be grateful for the fact that he can walk again.

• becoming a lower class City Guard slowly payed off the rehab but he had to spend some of his paycheck on keeping himself alive - food, clothing, rent. however, he moved in with Hannah, Lillian and Gordan as long as he payed equal rent between the four of them.

• before he died, he had paid off every debt to his name, except that one kiss. that is another thing he regrets.

• a part of this character, I can definitely see Remus Lupin in Declan (Harry Potter) but I tried to stray away from this prototype.

• Newt Scamander (Harry Potter) is also a part of this character with his underlying constant pureness.

• he is slightly inspired by one of my old friends as he was both pale, awkward and tall.
