Florence
Florence sits on a ford in the Gila River. Founded in 1866 by Levi Ruggles, it now serves as the seat of the newly formed Pinal County. Well-situated in the middle of some of the best farmland in the Arizona Territory, Florence boasts a booming business district which is notable for being less dependent upon the more sordid entertainment facilities that sustain communities in mining or ranching regions.
