La Paz

The former seat of La Paz County, La Paz has steadily lost population as business has moved south to Ehrenberg, driven by the mining boom around that town and the shifting of the Colorado River westward that left La Paz landlocked.   Presently, La Paz is virtually a ghost town, with only a handful of residents occupying the dozens of vacant buildings. The only remaining business is the Gold Rush Saloon, which serves as store, stable, and housing for most of the hangers-on.
