Flying City of Kel

The strangest and most wonderous city within the Azure Federation, it is a floating island of elemental earth atop which lies a city built around an abandoned Ilithid Nautilous ship, a dreadnaught of a size that has never been seen before. The original settlers were a Cadre of wizards that were looking for a secluded place to build a tower to continue their studies.
The city draws all of its power from a powerful magical artifact. They have retrofitted the dreadnaught to accept this power and use it to move the island. The Flying City serves as the seat of power of the loose assembly of Mages that is called the Scholam. Air travel is not capable except via powerful magic, the city trades with other nations by lowering to specified landing points in each nation and spending months at a time near the surface in this manner.
Tall towers and wonderous buildings abound, with the power source and the dreadnaught to distribute it the wizards that live here have almost no limitations to their architecture or their research.
