Guidebook of the Slitted Eye

A guidebook given to every Slitted Eye Initiate who leaves the Claw on extended missions, it is a curated collection of information on divine and magical artifacts that Claw Master Herald Whiteclaw is always on the lookout for.
The Slitted Eye's purpose, as directed by its leader Herald Whiteclaw; is the retrieval, curation and protection of divine relics. This will often include dangerous magical items that their expeditions come across, usually taken to keep them safe from abuse. The guidebook is usually adjusted to match wherever the expedition or singular member of the Slitted Eye is going but it always has several noteworthy entries that are of particular interest to Herald that are generally the same across any book.
The book is a non-descript brown leather book with multiple cloth bookmarks stuck into its pages, the amount really depends on the version of the guidebook. There is a focus on downplaying the book however as its information could be dangerous in the wrong hands. No two guidebooks are the same outside of those carried by members of the same expedition.

Missing Guidebooks. 
Guidebooks are turned back into Herald Whiteclaw whenever an expedition returns, generally speaking members of the Slitted Claw are not allowed to just carry them around unless they are particularly high rank or trusted by the Claw-master. He keeps track of all missing guidebooks whether lost by the bearer or that person going missing with the book. 
He will often send expeditions out specifically to retrieve the books and any mission to find missing claw members always includes recovering the guidebook if possible. 
There are currently 4 missing guidebooks, the most recent of which went missing seven years previously.

Killy McAllinters Expedition to study the Memoria Temples of Io Aran, ten years ago. Subsequent investigations with full cooperation of the Kuro Knights of the city found no leads. 
Olantus Stonemarrows Expedition to the Veshk River Valley to find the rumored Seastone Clasp. No expedition sent as local authorities declined any further investigations. - 20 Years ago.
Michael Palakts Expedition into the Shattered Ord to find a series of hidden runic tablets, ran afoul of the initial invasion of the Troll Wars, 50% casualties to the expedition. No attempt to find, considered irretrievable due to the chaos of the war. - 50 Years ago.
