Herald Whiteclaw
The leader of the Slitted Eye Claw, a group within the Sheathed Claw. He is an intensely focused Meronix who has a deep interest in divine relics.
A speckled black and white Meronix, he has 6 tails and walks with a slight limp. He wears a pair of half-moon glasses perched on the end of his snout and often has a plain outfit, serviceable workers clothes that he is not afraid to get dirty when crawling through ruins or dusty bookcases. He is an incredibly focused leader of his claw, unlike many Dusk Claws the Slitted Eye is a relatively martial group. Herald considers the retrieval and archiving of dangerous divine and magical relics to be his life's work and in his experience, these things rarely enter ones bag quietly. Trainees go through years of martial training coupled with intense cataloging and identification training before being allowed to go on expeditions.
He has lived his 600 odd years on the world constantly on the move. He was born to a pair of librarians, Meronix who had only just completed part of their lives goal of an obscure creature and plant catalog and were on the cusp of splitting their ways to pursue the more extreme examples of their fixations. Herald had a choice of journeying with his mother or his father and he chose neither. At a young age he had already begun to find his interests skewing from his parents, though he was interested in cataloging strange and unusual objects his focus was on the ruins of the elder eras. He left his parents before he was barely able to live on his own, drifting from ruin to ruin before needing to be rescued by an expedition lead by Master Kero Nine-Lives.
The young Meronix' drive inspired Kero and he took him under his tails and trained him. He would eventually take on disciples of his own and formed his own claw, The Slitted Eye. With the Slitted Eye, he would wander across the face of Keskad amassing quite a large collection of relics, though he often makes a point of leaving relics that are safely guarded where they are. He currently headquarters in the formerly abandoned Silvermist Falls Monastery with his Claw, sending out several expeditions a year and slowly refurbishing the monastery. It is not known if he is intending on making this a permanent home for the Claw.
