Highmountain Confederacy

A loosely organized alliance of the hardy clans who make their home in the Mountains of Mirrors. 
They have a long history of inter-clan warfare, only uniting in the past against outside foes. Known to be fierce warriors though their armies were often not disciplined affairs, they are masters of their terrain and tend to be brutal mountain fighters. 
Various Goliath Clans live in the Confederacy, the Humans of the area seeing little distinction between them which has lead to a long standing mingling of the peoples. As a rule, the humans from this land tend to fall into the Highgoth subspecies of Human. 
The confederacy united in name to join the Azure Federation, the relatively recent Sultunate Wars lead to a more in depth integration of the clans as a functional nation. 
There is a long running engineering project to create a system of locks and canals connecting the thousands of lakes and rivers that are found in the mountains where they make their home.

Highgoth A subset of humanity that makes its home in the high peaks of the Mountains of Mirrors, it owes its existence to the rampant intermingling of Human and Goliath clans in the region.
