Meiaru
Common Lore
The Fallen Triton god of Honor, Combat and Chivalry was originally a significant balancing force to the excess of Oburi. Meiaru was depicted as a hardy looking female Triton mounted on the back of a wild hippocampus and brandishing a shield and harpoon.
Once worshipped as the arbiter of honor, it was Meiaru that helped inform what codes that Oburifollowed and provided the constructive framework by which Tritons could fight war. She represented the discipline needed to maintain complex weapons and fighting forms.
Uncommon Lore
Many of the combat forms, weapons and martial arts that Triton use to this day stem from Meiaru's temples. Though long forgotten by many, certain rituals to open up combat rings or one on one training with students stem directly from those used in the temples.
Little known or heard lore
Meiaru was ultimately against saving the Triton after their betrayal and went along with it begrudgingly. It is said she spoke bitter curses as she was dragged down and devoured by a dozen lesser divines and surrounded by the broken bodies of a dozen more in her final moments.
These curses took form in the world, turning into vicious monsters that still stalk the oceans and bear a deep hatred of the Triton.
