The Gods of the Elves
The gods of elven kind arose from deep within the sphere of life as the first of the divine beings. In the days soon after the formation of the material and the solidification of the spheres around it, a gigantic tendril of the nether broke through and drove itself into the world.
This tendril nearly spelled the doom for the infant world, the breach widening and allowing a nearly cataclysmic waterfall of nether into the planes. Fortunately for Heroda this was not to be, the sphere of air strong enough to slowly close the rent in their reality. This tendril of unreality would become a huge, sphere spanning tree known to the elves as The Tree of Solitude.
It was from this tree that fruit sprung and it was from this fruit when it fell that the first Fey stepped into what would soon be called the Dreamfall. It was them that first called the tree they were born from the "Tree of Solitude". Still upon the tree for another millennia would sit more fruit, larger than any of those that fell earlier. It was from these that the gods of what would be the elves would eventually emerge as well as the beings known as the Queen Hellania and the 12 Lords of Winter.
These beings would stand atop Fey society, finding themselves with immense power and wisdom gleaned from their ages spent with the tree, learning and growing they were the natural rulers of their people. It was under their leadership that the Fey began to explore the world around them and venturing into the other spheres. These would eventually grow into the various courts of the Fey that would rise on the other spheres.
Not quite Gods...
The Kings and Queens of the Fey are not venerated in the same way as the gods but they are respected as judgmental and fickle creatures that stand at the same heights as the gods. There are some that DO worship them though and cults to the fey lords can be found in nearly any Elven city in the world.
The Fey are not creatures naturally inclined towards order, though they are moored firmly within Heroda the fickle nature of the nether persists in them. It was through the Fey settlements on the Material Plane that the natural inclination towards chaos slowly found itself eroded. These settlements of Fey would lead to the elven people and would also nearly bring the early world to war. The Lords of Solitude watched the elves with great interest, leading many of them to try to spread these changes. This was not well received, many of the different courts that had arisen resisting the change. Though beings of fitful temperament they all knew inherently that a war between them would rend the tree of their birth asunder.
Eventually the split would occur and an accord was made, those Lords of Solitude that would choose order would leave, choosing to watch over their chosen children while the rest would continue shepherding the Fey, continuing their lives as they always had among the various courts scattered across the spheres.
Though far removed at this point from their birth, the elves still know of and venerate that tree of solitude that was the place of their primordial birth.
The Tree of Solitude
An immense tree that also serves as a major gateway between the Material Sphere, The Sphere of Life and the Sphere of air.
Though not often used seeing as the base of the tree leaves one in the Dreamfall and the canopy places one firmly in the Aetherwyld.
Neither of these are good options for a mortal to find themselves.
