The Lost Pharos of Ghe

The Pharos of Ghe was a huge, magically reinforced lighthouse that was carved whole out of a coastal mountain. It was crafted by the goddess Reka in the Age of Mists, lovingly shaped to help provide a guiding light so that her children could return home. Its form follows the old shape of the mountain at its base, a long ramp with circuiting the smoothed stone like a step pyramid that slowly transitions into a delicate, almost lace like spiral around a slender central core. At its top is an egg shaped crystal that beams soft white light in all directions.      At the end of the Shattering War, the Pharos was torn from the sea floor and swept away by the violent unrest of the ocean. As the continent collapsed into the ocean, the currents drew the Pharos towards the still forming Veil Maelstrom where it was swallowed by the storm and trapped forever. It is here that it floats, buoyed by the churning waves of the maelstrom with its beautiful crystalline light still piercing the storm around it for miles. The Pharos slowly circuits the continent, catching 2 and there are legends of a mysterious light guiding sailors to their doom as the lighthouse sometimes drifts close enough to the edge of the Veil for its light to be seen outside of it.    There is some truth to these stories, though instead of leading to their doom the Pharos actually carves a safe path through the veil as the blessing of Reka maintains a bubble of peace around it. If properly supplied, a ship could follow the Pharos in the hope that its roaming would take it close to the other side of the veil. An enterprise that would take a lot of luck and courage but would be one of the few ways to transit the Veil.
