The Mask of the Sunken Lord
An ornate mask in the strange visage of a Kraken with incredible detail, wearing the mask properly seems to create a strikingly unsettling impression that the wearers head is that of an actual squid. The mask is made of brass with articulating tentacles that can be moved as needed, the wearer can see through a series of small holes on the forward portion of the mask. When worn the mask is unsettling, the tentacles seeming to move languidly as though floating under water when seen out of the corner of a viewers eye.
This mask is a relic of the elder Kraken, The Eye of the Deep. It is often found in the hands of its adherents, though in the past it had wandered through many different hands around the continent of Keskad. Cultists of the Elder Kraken and other eldritch beings seek this relic and entire cults will form around those who find it, doubly so for those brave enough to wear it.
The only way to remove the mask is to die.
Abilities and Effects
When worn by a devotee to the Eye of the Deep, several incredibly painful things happen very quickly. The mask locks itself to the wearers head while three tentacles unfold from inside the mask, two from where the inside of the squids eyes that bore into the wearers temples, the third from where the squids beak would be that squirms and extends down the wearers throat. These acts are forceful, bloody and agonizing. If the wearer survives this, they are considered worthy to be blessed by the gaze of the eye and are rewarded for their fortitude.
The wearer can breath underwater and can speak underwater and be heard as though it were air. They can see magical objects, effects and spells. They can now speak, read and understand Primordial and all dialects associated with it. They can speak with the booming voice of the Kraken, causing widespread damage around them. Kraken recognize the mask and the presence of the Eye of the Deep and while that may not save the wearers life it will at least give the wearer the time needed to explain themselves.

This is nice and interesting. I do not have very many watery things in my fantasy game world.
Thank you!
