Powered Mutation

Sometimes, a human will be born with a twist to something within their genetics that gives them Powers. It is unknown what causes this or why there is so much variation among those who have Powers, but it is known to be something one is either born with or not, though the Powers often don't appear until puberty.
It is also known that if one of a pair of identical twins has the mutation, the other always will as well. However, they rarely possess the same Powerset. Their Powers will often be somehow related, which raises several questions about this mutation and how it functions.
Studies are being carried out on willing Powered individuals to learn as much as we can about this mutation. It seems, however, that answers are still far out of reach.

Causes

It is likely passed through genetics. However, it is rare that a Powered parent will have a Powered child. Perhaps it is an extremely recessive gene?

Symptoms

Typically during puberty, Powers will develop. These Powers are extremely varied, though a significant number of Powered individuals have the ability to fly or enhanced strength. Enhanced healing is very nearly universal, for reasons that are unclear.
