The Grand Bazaar

If you can’t find it here, you can’t find it anywhere. The grand bazaar is constantly happening in Cherut Das, but it doesn’t occupy any one space. It was found that staying in one district for too long would lead to the families trying to exert their influence over the markets, both leading to the families taking what the merchants believed to be more than their fair share as well as favoring merchants from their own districts over others. In response to this, the Grand Bazaar tends to move from district to district in no discernible pattern. Sometimes this leads to the Bazaar being split up across multiple districts, but more often than not it causes one section of the city to burst alive with sales and commerce.   Due to the free range spirit of the Bazaar, there is no bar for entry to become a vendor. Many people in the city will make their first coin in the Bazaar selling homemade trinkets at a stand sandwiched between a blacksmith and a fishmonger. You can find all kinds of goods from food and artwork to the more exotic items like enchanted amulets and otherworldly gadgets. Part of this is because of the sheer volume of stands and vendors, but a lot of it is due to the fact that many merchants and adventurers will travel to Cherut Das specifically to sell and or buy such items, creating a cycle that leads to a healthy and diverse market.   While coin itself can find some value in the city, the fractured nature of the planet makes sure that is not the only bargaining chip. While gold or orchalcum may be valued heavily by some, what good is gold to a resistance member looking for weapons or a researcher who needs a team of explorers to retrieve a rare herb? While it is true that they could use gold to hire them, it is often seen as faster and more efficient to barter for trade rather than pay for it in Cherut Das.   The unofficial center of the Grand Bazaar is the so-called “main stage” which is a large platform that is carried wherever the market ends up. When an item or vendor has attracted enough attention, instead of being placed in a vendor's stall it will instead be put upon the stage where the auction will begin. The vendor themselves will often proceed over the auction themselves, for only they know how much they will value any given trade. The auction is usually set up in advance when it is known that a valued item will be in market, but on rare occasions an item will cause such an uproar that it will be brought to the main stage almost immediately.   Physical items are not the only things sold in the bazaar. Often many vendors will set up booths to sell their own services. Perhaps you need a seamstress to weave a banner for your house, a tutor for your children, or even a sellsword to defend your honor against those who would do your ilk wrong. There is practically no end to the things you can find at the Grand Bazaar.
