Description

The Hollow King is a descendent of a specific type of kegani that most closely resembles a hermit crab. Their shell has been passed down from ruler to ruler for generations, with the shell seemingly growing from bits of coral and other alien material being added. As a result of this happening over time, the Hollow King stands taller than almost every other kegani, even if his body proper is actually quite small. Also, his coloration is very distinct with hues of red, yellow, green and many others. As a result of his unique biology, he actually has two different voices. One loud, reverberating voice that gets channeled through his shell and a smaller, quiet clickier voice that comes his actual mouth.

History

As happens on rare occasion, a hermit kegani was born to a clutch in Nautyl’leh. The caretakers separated this child to ensure their survival as it is particularly easy for hermits to perish in infancy due to their small size. After several years of education and being sired directly by the monarch herself, the hermit took her place and became the Hollow King while she was laid to rest.
During the time of his reign, efforts to bring back Basatan has steadily been escalating. Where once the Hollow King would simply lead the entire city in prayer in sermon, now displays of material sacrifice are now common and outsiders fear that the King may call for more extreme measures. He has seldom been seen the last few years, only increasing fears that something more desperate is coming.

Personality

The current Hollow King is both righteous and detached. In the times that he speaks in regards to the kegani or Basatan, he speaks with a certain fury that will drive any believer to arms to do whatever is necessary. However, in other times he speaks to himself, even in conversations with others. Often it seems his speaks to people like he can barely perceive them, as if they were a ghost.
