The Throne Room

The Throne is power. This is not only symbolically, but in fact the Throne of Atlantis is in fact a powerful artifact. This has not always been the case however. During the reign of the Atlantean Empire, the Throne was more magnificent in appearance, being covered in the finest fabrics and gemstones, but it’s primary function was simply for the reigning king to recline into it. However, once the Throne had arrived on Venus, Ra had other plans for it.   The Throne room itself seems impossibly large, based on outside appearances. A simple sanguine carpet leads from the hall into the chamber, leading onward for hundreds of feet until it meets the stairs leading to the Throne. The walls themselves have similarly colored tapestries in between columns that stretch far into the air, their tops nearly invisible due to their height. However, the defining feature of the room functions as its light source and the main purpose for the Towers construction, The Choir.   The Choir is a massive, luminescent, chartreuse mass composed of an untold number of the souls of sapient beings. The pure life force of The Choir fills the Throne room with not just a sickly green light but also the somber calls of the lost souls, which echo through the entire Tower. The swirling mass never ceases, only growing with each passing minute. It is impossible to determine just how many souls have found their way into The Choir, as not only does it continue to grow and is innumerably large, but the perverse nature of The Choir causes anyone who dares look into it to feel their own soul begin to wither away.   Reaching into the heights of the Tower and into The Choir is the Throne itself. The Throne, once made of fine metals, is now a behemoth of alloy and stone. It appears far too large for a typical Atlantean, but its largest dimension is easily its height. It appears to reach infinitely upward, the true height of it obscured by The Choir. A large mechanical mass juts out of the throne several dozen meters above it and extends downwards until the tip of it is within reach of the Throne. This device transforms and refines the souls of The Choir so that they may be more easily consumed by Ra.   Finally, upon his Throne sits Ra, the Inevitable and Eternal, Ruler of the Atlanteans, Truest Builder, God-King of Tongues. While he once appeared no different than any other Atlantean, despite what records may tell you, Ra in the modern day appears unlike any other Atlantean in history. The millennia of strange magicks and consumption of souls have caused him to grow large, roughly six meters in height, with stretched, char gray skin. His face is large and gaunt, with jowls that seem far too large for his body, even with his proportions. Finally, his eyes are sunken and pitch black, giving the illusion that they are not there at all, instead leaving two hollow sockets in his face. Despite all of this, he moves and stands with great strength and purpose, despite how weak he may look.
