The Death of Jackal's Love

A sudden shock-wave of power rushes through the golden halls of the divine, mixed with the clang of metal upon metal. Within the blink of an eye, a glorious being with eyes like glass stands in front a silver throne. He glances over the hall, toward his brother.
"Brother, cease this meaningless feud." The being's four slim, pulsing wings of light cast a shimmering light on the floor. His muscular body glides in a careful manner and is covered in shining markings. He holds a golden spear.
His brother strides forward, his cream robes splattered with carnage, the gore from the others of their race aiming to stop him. No longer were the glorious halls of old prestine and divine. All that is left to see is a gloomy world. Chunks of rock cover virtually every surface the eye can see, which makes traversing this particular hall tricky and dangerous.

Remnants of a horrific battle lay hidden in a sealed off section of the Kourian Dominion's main palace. Archstroansian Adoel forbids anyone from stepping foot inside in fear of contamination.

Prelude

Shortly after Jackal crossed through the portal from Eozania to the All-Mother, he met Evan, and the two began dating. Their bond was insepreable and while they kept their relationship a secret, Jackal desired to tell his family the good news. As expected, Archstroansian Adoel did not take kindly to the knew of his brother dating an elf.

Deployment

One night, while Jackal was out on a mission, Adoel snuck into Jackal's bedchamber and slaughtered Evan in his sleep. Jackal returned home to find his love dead and sought out Evan's killer. After a long time, Adoel came out with the truth, banishing his brother, but not before mentioning that he sealed Evan's soul away, someplace Jackal will never find it.

Aftermath

Jackal is distraught at losing his mate and vows revenge against Adoel. The Grave War has since continued for the last few hundred years.
