The Virgelm River
Born in the north of the Dull Beak mountain range, the Virgelm River was formed through the erosion of runoff from the mountains and groundwater collection in the surrounding area. The River Virgelm sprouts from the northwest of the Dull Beaks, beginning its journey southwest towards the western beaches of Hierfell. The river Virgelm provides nutrients to the forests of Gaehyrs and Whirne, which find their roots gracing Virgelm's banks. Virgelm provided life to an ancient kingdom in The Gray Man's Steps, which is estimated to predate the Geaes Reclamation. The river offers fertility to a largely uninhabited area of Hierfell's wilderness, which is why the inhabitants of Hierfell regard it as an ancient life-bringer and treat its currents as sacred. The River Virgelm has provided fish of plenty to logging camps, huntingsteads, and lonely inns in the surrounding area.
