Copperton
"What more could we desire? The ocean is only a day or so north, we have the richest copper mines in the world to the west, and bountiful fields and farms to the south... We have it pretty good here in our little town. With the copper we pull from the hills we craft the finest bronze weapons and armor in the world, and while I know Iron and Steel are all the rage these days, I know bronze will always be in fashion." Master spearmaker of Coperton
Demographics
Primarily a Human (nearly 40%) and Halfling (about 45%) village, they people of Copperton are also accustomed to Tieflings (due to a large Tiefling community and ranch just south of the town). The remaining portion of the populace is fairly evenly mixed with Dwarves, Half-elves, Hobgoblins and Goliath ( about 15%).

Defences
While the village is fairly small, the Copper-smith Guild pays well for guards and soldiers to keep a close watch over the production centers of the town.
Industry & Trade
Providing a large portion of the worlds copper and bronze, the small town does fairly well financially, however they struggle to stay small. They willingly ship much of their product off to other cities for processing to avoid the extra population and industry from moving into and crowding their town.
Infrastructure
Numerous smelters, foundries and smiths work the raw Copper ore pulled from the mines into numerous copper and bronze products. In addition, there is a small Dwarven mint in town, charged with producing official copper coins for use all over the world.
Guilds and Factions
By far the most powerful guild in Copperton is the Copper-smith's Guild, who has a vote on the Council, and controls most of the Guards and Militia in the village.
History
Founded early in the common era (Roughly 28CE) by Halfling metal-smiths and miners, this village quickly grew once rich copper veins were found in the nearby hills. The town experienced a serious population boom due to the copper mines between 54 and 65CE, as the population went from a few hundred to over 15,000. However this boom ended quickly in 101CE once a method for smelting iron became readily available, and the town suffered an economic collapse. Today the town has recovered somewhat from that collapse, but works hard to maintain itself as a small economic powerhouse and avoid unchecked growth.
