Frostport
Nestled far to the north of the Osemar Sea, this desolate fishing village rests at the southern most tip of the Frostshard.
Demographics
Many different peoples have settled in Frostport. Outcasts from many nations came here centuries ago to avoid persecution in their homelands and to begin anew as fisherman.
Humans, Orcs, Hobgoblins, Bugbears, Halflings, Half-Orcs, Half-Elves, Dwarves and Tabaxi are almost equal in population.
There is a small population of Dragonborn, Kobolds, Aaracokra, Elves and gnomes are also present, though in lesser numbers.
Government
Ruled by a council of elders, one voted from each major racial demographic within the town.
Defences
With no official law enforcement or guards, civil defense is handled by a council appointed militia.
Industry & Trade
Whaling offers large amounts of food, fat, and oil (collected from the whale blubber). The bones of the whale also serve as an inexpensive replacement for copper or stone tools in this metal poor area.
Infrastructure
Fishing, Whaling and hunting the tundra are the primary forms of industry.
Assets
Several fishing and whaling vessels belonging to the town council are shared and used by the populace, there is also some hunting equipment available for use. In addition, there is an abandoned mining camp nearby that still has equipment sitting unused under the snow.
History
Formally settled in 199 CE the town was built by Human, Hobgoblin and Halfling laborers, fleeing persecution elsewhere. In the following years the village gained a reputation for being a safe, if somewhat frozen and inhospitable, place for refugees and continued to grow with an influx of settlers.
Geography
Set on the frozen coast of the Osemar sea, to the north is the tundra of the Frostshard, and beyond that lies the vast expanse of The North Ice.
Natural Resources
Meat and oil from whaling, as well as simple bone tools. Fishing also provides food and some leathers (from rays and sharks). Beyond that hunting and light mining opperations provide further food, leather and furs, as well as some metals.
