Pouring through temporary planar gates from the Ashlands, the Elemental Plane of Fire, armies of Fire Giants marched into the world. Come to conquer the Stone Giants of Jotunhall, and crush anyone else in the way.

Late in the night on the Second I'irt of Cooling season (Muntasaf Alkharif), the 642nd day of the year, A portal from the Fire Plane was torn open roughly 20 miles north of Jotunhall. From this portal marched a vanguard force of 150 Fire Giants. This marked the beginning of the Nar'Eimlaq War. Each night following, until the 3rd Hins (655th day), the gate would open anew, and another 150 troops marched through the gate. This massive army stayed put until 1,950 Nar'Eimlaq (Fire Giants) had amassed, hiding their position by kindling massive forest fires to the South, East and West.

On the Morning of the 3rd I'irt (656th Day of 211 CE), the invading force mobilized, marching south towards Jotunhall. On their march the Fire Giants killed and burned any hamlet, villager or creature that crossed their path in order to ensure their attack upon the stone giants was a surprise. At Dusk on the same day, the Fire Giants laid siege to Jotunhall, their attack was a total surprise, as the peoples of the area were spread thin and disorganized trying to quell the forest fire that preceded the giant army.

The war carried on for more than a year. Each Night a new portal was opened by the Fire Giant general, allowing 25 to 50 additional invaders through, to bolster their force. And while the Stone Giants (and their Hill Giant kin) could hold their great stone fortress against nearly any force, the peoples living outside the fortress and in the surrounding hills suffered greatly under the invaders.

One recorder event was the Battle of Tenton Hills. This Stone Giant counter-offensive involved Stone Giant Jarl Skjoldulfr "The Dreamer", leading an assault against the Fire Giant encampment. Skjoldulfr "The Dreamer" led a force of 250 Stone Giants, more than 500 Hill Giants, and several humanoid Military and Adventuring parties, including the famed 'Golden Hummingbirds'. Unfortunately this brave offensive was expected by the entrenched Fire Giants, and was massacred.

On the morning of the 2nd Awal of Awalmara 213 CE (13th day of the new year), The Invading Fire Giants all returned to their home plane in a flash and a whiff of dense smoke, having been unable to conquer or exterminate their Stone Giant kin... and with that the Fire Giant Invasion ended as swiftly and unexpectedly as it had begun. To this day, no one known how or why the Fire Giants crossed onto Hijr and attacked, only that they burned a great scar across the land. It was nearly 50 years before the forests and hamlets of the area returned to their former selves... ever remembering all the people lost in this unexplained conflict.
