The lords of salt are the nobles of the coast line of Rethenia they like many lords form an official pact, swearing allegiance to a local Duke and the King. The salt Lords are the schemers of the Rethenian court. Often instigating local conflicts or grand schemes to take positions of power, land or resources. They are fiercely loyal to the king, but that only allows them more freedoms to act on their own self interest under his watch.
