While usually the Izar and Miyiks get most of the official recognition in the makarid culture for their technical and leadership skills, their efforts would amount to nothing if it wasn't for their equally skilled counterparts.
The makarid social substrate is in fact held together by what they call the Kharsan, the individuals who, with the only fact of existing, give the Izar and Miyiks the reason to better themselves and achieve mastery in their skills.
This is a title that is in the common language used in relations to the loved ones, the recurring customers and the supportive friends. It signifies the recognition of their role of graceful acceptance for the Miyiks and Izar's efforts, of their guidance in the choice of the paths to follow and of their inspiring presence.
In the context of the sensual rituals, the Kharsans are usually (but not always exclusively) the submissive receivers of the Miyiks skills and the Izars commands, they are the muses that inspire their work and the people they strive to protect and preserve.
They are ultimately the people who set the path for the community, by dictating with their desires and feebacks, how their leaders act for the best interest of the community. While in its largest sense the term Kharsan might be appropriate for everyone who doesn't hold one of the two other titles, the makarids never use it as a definition by absence, but give much thought to the reasons why one person is a Kharsan in a particular context, often attaching signifiers and explanations to it.
It is often a term of endearment used by lovers when they feel the need to emphasize the meaningfulness of the presence of the other person in their life.
A kharsan is often the light of a Miyik's life, the person who bring a smile to their face with the simples comment and gives them the strenght to keep working in the most difficult of days. Celebrations and public acclamations are given to Miyiks and Izars, but there's hardly a single work of art, a finely crafted item or an act of bravery that wasn't done with a Kharsan in mind.
While there are not set responsibilities for the Kharsans, one would not be given this title of respect if they were not skilled and graceful communicators of their wishes and supportive partners in the activities they engage in.
