The Clans

Practitioners of the martial arts, the leaders of the clans used to be one step below the Emperor himself, acting as his Daimyo. After the War of the 7, the old masters were executed and new ones put in place, and they have had most of their power stripped from them.
They are still a large part of Hitodaman society as many people follow the tenets of a certain clan, but they no longer have the political power they once did - it is seen more now as a school to keep oneself disciplined.
