Underhive

The Underhive is the region of a hive city where the poorest of the poor and those citizens of the hive city who have been exiled for committing crimes or for political reasons live. In the Underhive, there is no law save for that created by the gangs that rule this dark ghetto. The Underhive is a difficult place to live where the power was long before turned off by the hive city's authority and the only rule is that might makes right. All manner of crimes and atrocities go unpunished every day in the seething, violent anarchy of the Underhive. Working technology is the only real currency that matters in the Underhive and the recovery of the right equipment can transform a lowly ganger into the ruler of all he knows

When the larger gangs of the city merged together under the last planetary governor 30 years ago, they received power and weapons. The smaller gangs knew they wouldn't last long, so following in there footsteps they also banded together for survival. This new gang, The Toxic Hellions, would eventually be the majority rulers of the Underhive in its current state.

Geography

Life is a constant fight for scraps, people live in ruins or any shelter they can find. Streets and buildings are pot marked with bullet holes and any semblance of city infrastructure has been scraped or cobbled together to make makeshift housing. Corpses new and old are common, and death is a common occurrence here. Hive quakes frequently rock the towers of scrapes made by its citizens, lasting infrastructure is hard to come by and really only exist near the four main pillars that hold up the hive city at large. Branching out from these pillars is what you could call a livable area, but it is heavily controlled by the gangs and there needs.

Natural Resources

Most people that live here are dependent in one way or another on the major gangs to provide food and shelter. The gangs themselves have connections to get these resources. The only real thing the underhive produces is auto-weapons and drugs, most gangs have large depots to manufacturer both.
