Powell was raised outside the city of Vernekt on a small vineyard as a farm hand. Powell was in charge of the stables and picking grapes as a young boy. In his spare time he read books about magic to try and learn anything that could help him out with the farm. Eventually he became so adept at controlling weather in the vineyard that he was taken on as an apprentice wizard in Port Secours.
