Umthi Ongcwele
Government
The chief executive is the mayor (or Dolophu) in their native tongue, who is aided by the vice-mayor and a 38-member city council. however the local government is superseded by any representative of the king (Kumkani) should the city get the attention of the government (Rhu Lumente)
Defences
There are ancient walls and defense towers but most are overgrown with moss and decaying with age, as the kingdom rule over the entire known world the most dangerous threat is from pirates, raiders, or anti-government guerillas who use any of ziqithi's many islands to hide, thus the Defenses of the modern day city comes from the abundant military forces stationed within the city (however their prime objective is the protect the shipyard and mostly defend the richer or more developed part of the city leaving those in the poorer sections or further out on their own.
Industry & Trade
Umthi Ongcwele is the largest center for commerce, banking and finance, retailing, transportation, tourism, real estate, legal services, accounting, theater, fashion, and the arts in ziqithi rivaled only by the capital city Kwibhotwe, of course having the largest port in the world it is the center of trade ships for all of Ziqithi and the shipyard and port is the largest and most important employer in the whole city.
Infrastructure
The city started as a planned city with every road built in a grid but over the centuries as the city was destroyed and rebuilt several times the city changed, it now has brick roads, bridges, and parts of the city with watermills, a functioning sewer system, courtyards for the rich, and of course the best shipyard in ziqithi. while the older and poorer parts of the city have ancient buildings of past designs crumbling with mud roads filled with the muck and filth of the people who have to use latrines and in general don't have the new sewer system throw their waste in the streets.
Geography
Umthi Ongcwele is situated at the mouth of the Engcwele river which feeds into the Kelelwe, it sits upon the alluvial deposit created by the bay and river. It is surrounded by jungle outside the kilometer wide clearing around the edge of the city to help prevent wildlife from wandering in.
Natural Resources
the city actually sits over a deposit of gold, rubies and tin though non of the local population knows this as the tin is what allowed the forces from Enkulu to develop superior bronze weapons to conquer Bahlali which combined with being the only known source of gold gave them the resources to conquer the rest of Ziqithi. so as far as the Rhu Lumente are concerned the less the people know about the valuable resources beneath their feet the better
