Tryve

A tall starch crop that grows in shallow running water. It has a long, wide stalk that grows in the water and is topped by a blue flower with large, flat petals. Within the stalk are small chewy beads, which can be dried to feed livestock or milled into flour.
It is used in various dishes local to the Sems, but is exported as a highly nutritious feed for work animals.
