World Tree Airship Technology is a set of techniques revolving around using the resources from the
World Tree, mainly the juice of
world tree fruit, to enhance
airships. Airships that use this technology are called
World Tree airships.
History
After the discovery of world tree fruit, various engineers and wizards began studying their properties. Air-affinity fruits were the most common since they were needed to keep the islands of the
Sky Ocean afloat and provide enough oxygen at such high elevations, and eventually, more and more people were inspired to use them to enhance airships.
The first successful project used juice made from an air-affinity world tree fruit as fuel, which proved to be quite efficient despite the limited amount that could be used without endangering an island to suffocating or sinking. This method would become the most popular and mainstream form of this technology.
World tree fruits of other elemental affinities have been experimented with, such as using fire-affinity fruits for weaponry and as a supplemental (or sometimes even as an alternate) fuel source.
Later projects incorporated trees grown from world tree fruit as a biological generator. This proved to be a more sustainable method, but factors, such as the time required to find and/or grow such trees and the popularity of the fuel method, prevented this from becoming a more common practice.
Sky pirates are the most common users of world tree airship technology, especially using the juice fuel method.
Because most islands are dependent on very few world tree fruits to survive, few dared to dabble in this technology. However, sky pirates armed with this technology outclassed nations without it, and thus, had the ability and audacity to steal world tree fruits to continue fueling their airships.
