City of Vera
The City named after the Mother of Strength. A large city of great importance that lies not too far east of the Capitol.
History
The city of Vera was founded by the Goddess of Strength within the first 100 years that she roamed the earth. It wasn't a special place of any kind, didn't have any great natural advantageous position, nor was it remotely anything but normal tree groves and grassland.
When she decided upon the spot, she and her followers had begun to build the epicenter of what would become a powerful city capable of influence that a nation would have. The first building erected was The Great Hall or Hall of Vera. It was originally designed to comfortably house both Vera in her fullest height and her followers. After many years, Vera stopped residing in the hall and the interior, along with the purpose, of the building changed to accommodate the increasing need to have a centralized governing body house in an appropriate building.
Tourism
Because Vera was so fond of physical bouts, testing of strength, and showing the fruits of ones labor, she had built a grand arena whose only purpose was entertainment. Because of this arena, many have traveled to the City of Vera to show their strength and gain recognition in the only arena that was built and recognized by a god. All kinds of famous combatants from every era have at one point competed in the arena.
The arena still holds the tradition of upcoming fighters entering its walls and leaving gloriously or not.
As much as the history of the city is held in overwhelming strength and combat, it is also a place of great learning, art, and cultural mixing. Never in its history has the city turned away a would be inhabitant due to their origin, and as a result it has become a point in which ideas from various corners of the land blend, contrast, and give rise to higher thinking.
