Pencieno - Plasmoid (PENN-see-enn-OH)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Pencieno are amorphous piles of ooze held together by a single nucleus "brain". The Pencieno can alter its morphology to appear humanoid, but with as many or as few limbs as it would like, when it would like. Despite a lack of lungs, it appears that Pencieno still require air, but can last an hour without oxygen.
Genetics and Reproduction
Pencieno are asexual and cannot reproduce. They are instead created by high level wizards, often those that specialize in transmutation. For this reason, pencieno are exceptionally rare.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Given the Pencienos unnatural origin, they require a large amount of protein to sustain the creatures nucleus. They are mainly carnivorous, but have been noted to settle on eggs, peas, and other forms of high protein intake when threatened with starvation.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
Being sapient, most pencieno are created by wizards to assist in their labs, or to guard aspects of their home and workplace. In the events that a wizard may die or disappear before the pencieno, or simply if the wizard chooses the pencieno to be free, the ooze may travel the world as any sapient creature would. That noted, some pencieno have lived so thorough a live of exploitation that they may never leave their birthplace and continue their duties, even if the wizard has long left.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Pencieno seem to lack the sensation of touch through extended psuedopods, but can feel anything that injures their membrane or passes through it. Pencieno can hear, taste, smell, and see as well as any elf.
Civilization and Culture
History
Fairly early in the history of Nove-Modai, around the year 230 of the second era, the leader of the Nor-Dorkai school of Transmutation was running experiements with ooze and slimes. In this process, Olivia Rivercrest discovered how to create a sentient mass of ooze that could follow complex orders and communicate with other creatures. Given the immense difficulty in making pencieno and the high cost associated with the materials, they have a history of being exploited and used for labor around the wizards homes and workplaces. Some wizards have set pencieno free to see how they adapt to Verdan society. It is currently a hot topic debate if pencieno should be free from servitude upon creation, or if they should even be made at all.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Pencieno can be any color that their wizard creator chooses, but due to a pure logical drive (or simple lack of creativity) most pencieno are a translucent grey.
