Perilous Waters!

While continuing to flee from the forces of a mysterious force that struck out against the throne, our band of heroes meets an Orcish mercenary by the name of Gru. As a former employee of the Ostian Throne, Gru agreed to help the team on the condition that the new Queen make good on her late father's promise of payment. The team's objective began to unfold as the path to Carmichael continued, but was abruptly halted by a hastily assembled, fire resistant, wall constructed along the bank of a raging river! To reach the port town across the river, our heroes threw their trusty bard, Sir Kyk Phlyp, across the waters, carrying with him a length of rope for the rest of the team to use in traversing the waves. After narrowly avoiding the eyes of sentries, they made their way to the town entrance and, using some cunning word play with the guards, snuck inside Carmichael to attempt to find safe passage to the North.

Ostian Grand Hall Razed!
2nd Month, 13th day, 1017 S.E.

The Grand Hall of the Ostian Court sacked and razed! A select few of the King's elite court managed to escape with Princess Lilina in tow to a secret sewer outlet. After trekking through the southern Ostia forest for a few hours the Court Crew and the newly "crowned" Queen Lilina, they came upon a group of castle foes. They were cut off from foraging by the assault of the enemy dogs, both canines and thugs alike. They were also visited by a briefly glowing orc (who turned out to be a future-friend). Once the battle was concluded, coins and weapons were salvaged, and the orc introduced himself as Gru. The princess woke after some deliberation and valiantly assisted in the negotiation to bring Gru to the aide our humble heroes. After resting for the night, the band of brave countrymen and women decide to head to Carmichael to seek aquatic transportation north. Right now, our heroes' only hope is distance between the tracking villians and time to plan the next move...
