Echo Planes

Overview
  • All worlds generate Echo Planes, mostly early on in their existence.
  • Echo Planes are dreams of the real world, and link closely to the Inner Planes.
  • As dreams, they are more structurally fragile then the real world, but do have a stronger connection to the background energy of existence.
  • Early in existence the Echo Planes of each world were connected, however this is no longer the case and many worlds are no longer connected to any of their Echo Planes.
  • Echo Planes come and go, sometimes at the whim of the universe, other times because of catastrophic or singularly important events.
  • When Echo Planes break apart, fragments of the Echo Plane frequently break free of their host world and are set adrift in the Void.
  • Being trapped in one of these other echoes without a means of escape is mostly certain oblivion.
Feywild
  • Life, nature, reality, ecology, interdependence, instinct, indulgence, regeneration, survival
  • Thallids - Thorn, Germinator, Shellseeker, Vitaspore, Devourer, Sporesower, Feral, Savage, Psychotrope, Deathspore
  • Living Violent Vines
  • Demiplane of plants
  • Sprites - Smoke, Shadow, Frost, Zephyr, Fire, Scryb, Shrieking
  • Have survived major fissure events to remain connected to the world of Holocene, however the Feywild is now far smaller than the real world.
  • Of all the Echo Planes it retains the strongest connection to the real world.
  • The Arch Devil Mephistopheles schemed for decades to take control of parts of the Holocene Feywild recently, however, was recently thwarted by the SRG, particularly through the actions of his “son” Ophion to deny and oppose him.
Shadowfel
  • Ruin, power, ambition, greed, death, illness, corruption, selfishness, amorality, sacrifice
  • Home of the Nightwalkers, Nightwings, Nightswimmers
  • Difficult to navigate, the Shadowfel frequently shifts location without warning, stranding travellers thousands of miles from their point of entry to the real world.
  • Shadowfel maintains a strong connection to many real worlds including Holocene.
  • The Titan Skullbriar has lurked for tens of thousands of years in the Shadowfel of the Holocene. A sect known as the Skullbriar Light seeks to return it to the real world.
Argeantweald
  • Inertia, Changeless, Balance, order, stagnation
  • The lore of the Skyworlds state that the Argeantweald was the first Echo Plane to be created.
  • This lore also speculates that the Argeantweald is the physically (elementally) strongest but energetically the weakest.
  • It is unknown if the Holocene Argeantweald is in deep orbit with its world or if it has vanished into the Void forever.
  • The lone fragments of the Skyworlds Argeantweald seem remotely connected to the Skyworlds through the lone Staff of the Argeantweald.
Panthalessus
  • logic, manipulation, control, dominance, decimation.
  • An Echo Plane of cold intelligence lacking empathy or care.
  • The few physical descriptions of the Panthalessus often portray it as a flowing unstable version of the real world easily controllable both those with strong enough force of will.
  • Janto legends tell of their people fleeing the Panthalessus where they were servants to the now extinct Titan Tethys.
Wyrding
  • Chaos, earth, fire, passion, impulse, fury, war, destruction, tempest.
  • An Echo Plane of violent extremes that grossly exaggerates features of its home world.
  • Home of the Loa including Papan Geele, Papi Blood Moon, Baron Samedi, Maman Brigette, Maitresse Canzo, Boss Hounon’gon, Ti Letetia and Jo Zombi.
  • Fragments of the Wyrding orbit each other in frightening proximity with no one portion more than a relativistic 1000 kms in any one direction.
  • Of the Holocene Wyrding the scholars of the Great University have assessed that more than 90% of the Wyrding is lost permanently to the Void, having either returned to the Quanti or forever lost.
  • The remaining 10% is tidally locked to the real world but is incredibly difficult to access.
  • Discontinuance events can provide easier access when all the planes and places converge on each other.
