Oshira the Ghoul

(a.k.a. The Ghoul)

Oshira the Ghoul is an elderly Mashiqi female aasimar druid and the proprietor of Oshira's Apothecary. She has lived in Jeharoa for many years and has earned a reputation as a trusted white witch and a healer. However, she was not always treated so kindly and her grisly appearance bears the marks of a hardened life.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

An old, old woman with a stooped back. The first thing you notice is her face, it is burned and scarred beyond repair. The wounds have long since healed, but they have given her skin a leathery, ashen grey completion. Two small black dots peer out beneath folds of wrinkles and scar tissue. She wears a simple poncho that comes down to her knees and carries a long staff made of olive wood.

Personal history

When Oshira was much younger, she was a healer in the city and was known for her miraculous potions, salves, and poultices. Yet she was not a priestess, and so some among the populace believed her to have gained her healing knowledge from the dark arts They called her Oshira the Hag and asked the Jeharoan leadership to investigate. Over the course of twenty years, multiples administrations tried her for consorting with dark powers. Over and over and over again, no matter what torturous means or horrific trials they set before her, Oshira would heal and their lie detection would prove that she was in fact, simply an exceptionally gifted healer and not a hag. Yet by the time the matter was settled, young Oshira no longer was a beautiful young maiden, but a hideous stooped figure with ash-grey skin and a horrible visage. Nobody called her Oshira the Hag anymore—now they called her Oshira the Ghoul. Still, she remained a fixture in the community and even survived the fall of the Palladian slave rebellions, the Qartagonian Civil War and the First Pilgrim War.
