Guild of Sevens
The Guild of Sevens is to the
demonic enemies of the realm
what the Guild of the High
Courts is to the criminal guilds.
According to stories, the Guild of
Sevens is a monastic Order, who often
reside below or and within monasteries, bent on
ridding the world of demons, devils, sorcerers, and
other cultic activities. They combine the Skills of the
Devil Hunter, Cleric, and Saint Character Classes, to
create the most elite of devil hunters.
As elite and productive they may be, several
controversies surround the Guild, the primary being:
1. Their history of murdering “for God”
2. Their absolute resolve to never get involved in
business outside their own, even if it means
protecting the monastery that shelters them
3. Their secrecy of funding, and use of those funds
The truth is that only the Clergymaster that shelters
them knows for sure if, and how, they operate. The
rumors are that their members are super devil hunters,
ones that can use bladed weapons AND perform High
Miracles. If this is true, only God can be directing and
supporting their cause, as judges of the unholy.
The History of the Guild of Sevens
Historians and fanatics of the guild have rightly
concluded that the Guild of Sevens is descended from a
group once known as Company of Seven, who were 7
legendary warriors that together could slay Satan
himself, which is far beyond human possibility. Bards
sing, and storytellers say that God Himself opened the
heavens and dropped 7 mighty swords and 7 shields
onto the beach upon the clerics landing on an island
ravaged by evil, a breeding ground of monsters bred to
devour humanity. The 7 of them alone fought for 7
days and 7 nights, slaughtering the most dreaded
monsters, and saving all the realms from monstrous
destruction.
The legends say that those 7 have passed an impossible
lineage of Miracle- and sword-wielding men and
women, who train only the rarest of fervent demon-
haters into a miraculous powerhouse of Devil Hunters
known as Judges; one of their Judges replacing another
upon death, keeping their Council, or High Judges, at
seven members.
Many argue that it is all myth, that Judges were (or are)
cultists, that they are using the Name of God to
assassinate those who even allegedly espouse sorcery
and witchcraft, or that the “Guild” is just of band of
fanatical renegades on a self-serving mission of their
own to destroy evil, and any of humanity that stands in
their way. Most believe that they no longer follow God,
a walking contradiction, if the lineage even exists.
But the full truth of elite guilds remains a mystery.
