Introduction

The origins of Cadonians, the distinct subspecies with unique physiology and biology, have been a topic of great interest and speculation. However, the information regarding the science and technology behind their creation is lost. This article aims to shed some light on the original experiment of the Heirs that led to the creation of Cadonians and the implications of their existence.

The Original Experiment

The original experiment that created Cadonians was carried out by Uz On, a member of the Heirs. The specifics of the experiment have been lost to time, but the purpose behind the experiment was to create human clones with genetically engineered kidneys that could filter the massive amounts of Elerium used while the clones are rapidly growing, and keep filtering the Elerium that the Heirs use to support MIND synapses.

The Result: Cadonians

The experiment resulted in the creation of an engineered human subspecies, eventually called Cadonians, with genetically enhanced kidneys that could withstand the side effects of massive amounts of Elerium in its system. One of the side effects of this enhancement was the colorful yet distinctive skin pigments and textures, making them unusable to the Heirs. However, the Heirs continued their experiments on Cadonians and discovered that the filtered Elerium from the cadonians' kidneys can be used to rapidly grow human clones without blowing out their kidneys. When the Heirs replaced Elerium with the filtered Elerium from Cadonians during their sentient lives, their kidneys did not display any signs of corrosion.

Implications: Cadonian Farming

The creation of Cadonians and their ability to filter Elerium had significant implications for the Heirs. They began Cadonian farming to provide the amounts of filtered Elerium that they needed to keep themselves alive. For the first 12,000 years, the Heirs farmed Cadonians that were cloned in succession, but eventually, the cloning process started producing faulty Cadonians due to a small and waning gene pool. The solution was to systematically release new Cadonians from engineered human samples into the wild, allowing for the natural growth of the Cadonian genetic pool.   The creation of Cadonians by the Heirs had far-reaching implications, including the ability to filter Elerium and the establishment of Cadonian farming. While much of the science and technology behind their creation has been lost, the legacy of Cadonians continues to play a crucial role in the survival of the Heirs.
