Named for his fondness of beets. His family originally from Summerhill, however later he and his parents traveled with the baggage train of the Anthropos invasion force landing near Pam Plona. Following the war, his family stayed in the area.

He is childhood friends with Hector Sánchez. Beatz is a sucker for anything that looks like a profitable venture.
